Mr. Charles William Tyler, Sr Ahoskie, North Carolina passed away March 6, 2022, at his home in Alpharetta, Georgia. He will be laid to rest at Historical Southview Cemetery, in Atlanta, Georgia. Charles Sr. spent most of his professional career in Wilmington, Delaware as a Music Producer. He was the Go-To Person when it came to the music industry in the tri-State Area. He was connected to Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff of Philadelphia International Records. Gamble and Huff produced such artist as Patti La Belle, The O'Jays and The Delfonics. As a lifelong entrepreneur he and his wife Wanda were known for their beauty salons in Wilmington Delaware but also in Lincoln Pennsylvania at Lincoln University. Their retail record stores Shasta Records Inc. were in Wilmington's Adams 4 Mall and Dover Delaware at the Dover Air Force Base. Charles and Wanda had a passion for training the youth in the area who were seeking careers in music. He worked and trained many artists in the Wilmington Delaware area. The most notable The Travelers were among the first group to become well known. Charles was a Record Producer and songwriter. He and his wife were Concert Promoters as well as mentors. They promoted concerts featuring the O'Jays, The Delfonics, James Brown and The Famous Flames, amongst other known artists. A private memorial will be held for Charles William Tyler, Sr. in Ahoskie North Carolina. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Morgan-Tyler and children Charles Tyler Jr., Dr. Mia L.
