–

Stone Mountain, Georgia

Christopher Derwin Thomas was the youngest of six children. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 25, 1964, to Franklin L. and Annie C. Thomas.
Christopher was educated in the Atlanta Public Schools. He attended J.C. Murphy High School. While there, he continued his athletic endeavors, which began in local Boys and Girls Clubs. He was a capable point guard who led his teams to several local AAU titles, Regional AAU finals, and State High School tournaments. In his senior year, he was recognized as a nominee for the McDonald’s All-American High School Basketball Team. He also participated in Marching band. He graduated in 1982. He continued his education at DeKalb College (now Perimeter College at Georgia State University). Christopher then transferred to the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia, where he joined the basketball team. Following college, he began his career in car sales. Christopher worked for over 20 years as a car salesman, primarily with Ford dealerships. He was often recognized as salesman of the month and provided excellent customer service. After car sales, he opened his own courier delivery business, Ceez Courier Services, which he operated for about 8 years. He ended his business career at Mavis Tires & Brakes. Christopher was an avid Atlanta sports team fan, especially the Atlanta Falcons. He loved tailgating, even when he wasn't attending games in person. Like his father, Christopher loved playing poker. He participated in local club games and tournaments. His expertise also afforded the opportunity to become a dealer in poker tournaments. He loved clothes, shoes, and watches. Christopher was always a snazzy dresser when he left home. He loved family gatherings because they allowed him to get all his favorite foods. Christopher had many friends with whom he shared his love for sports, poker, and boating, especially at Lake Lanier. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stephen. He is survived by his four sisters, Barbara, Carol, Jacquelyn, and Alicia; his niece, Sabrina; his nephews Michael, DeNemes, and Marcus; his aunt Anne Ward; his grandnieces and grandsons; and a host of cousins and friends.
