Graveside Service, Celebrating the Life of Evangelist Sammie Pearl Wilson will be held Thursday, August 20, 2020, at 2:00 PM. at Southview Cemetery, located at 1990 Jonesboro Road, SE, Atlanta, GA 30315. These services will be recorded and streamed live. Sis Pearl had a special anointing for singing, praying, and spreading the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was educated by the Detroit Public School System. She was an active member of Apostolic Faith Mission in Pontiac, Michigan, Clinton Street Greater Bethlehem Temple Church in Detroit, Michigan, and her family church, Bethlehem Temple Church of Detroit. She went on to meet and marry Gus Wilson Jr., and to this union, six children were born: Hal Wilson (preceded her in death), Larry Wilson, Anola Jefferson (preceded her in death), Linda Susan Cooks, Edna Mae Hernanda (preceded her in death), and Judith Carol Edwards. She was an avid cook and quite the beauty with her distinguishable dressing style and charisma. Vocationally, she had the master's touch in all matters domestic. For a decade, she owned and operated a foster home for women with various exceptionalities, and her skilled domesticity provided her the opportunities to serve at a host of households for several years in her career. She took great pride in making a house a home and ensuring that all who lived in it felt loved, seen, and cared for. A detailed oriented person with a quick wit and a keen eye, she managed to always make several friends and admirers. Though devote and deeply convicted by the Word of God, she embraced and loved others as if they were her own no matter their walk of life. Her infectious smile, giving spirit, sense of humor, warm nature, and tender touch will be missed by all who encountered her. On August 16, 2020, Sis. Pearl transitioned from labor to reward. Her beautiful life will live on through her surviving children: Larry Wilson of Detroit, MI; Linda Susan Cooks of Farmington Hills, MI, and Judith Carol Edwards of Atlanta, GA; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. "Her grandchildren affectionately referred to her as "Gra Gra" and were all individually loved and cherished by her. Sis Pearl dedicated her life to loving and affecting everyone she met while spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her life was a life fully lived. Her faithful heavenly Father kept every promise made to her.
