James Stevenson Jr.

Mr. James Stevenson was born on March 3, 1929, in Woodbury, Georgia, to the late Mr. James and Mrs. Minnie Stevenson. He began his education at Woodbury Junior High School and later attended Washington High School in Atlanta.

In 1950, he proudly answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army. Following his honorable military service, Mr. Stevenson built a dedicated career with Delta Airlines and Lane Limited.

Beyond his professional life, he found great joy in one of his lifelong passions—fishing—and spent many peaceful hours by the water.

Mr. Stevenson was united in holy matrimony to Ms. Bessie Martin, and together they were blessed with five children. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bessie, and by two of his children, Derrick and Anita.

Cherishing his memory are his children Patricia Bostic, Paul Stevenson, and Emmitt Stevenson; grandchildren Derrick, Danielle, Derricka, Paul Jr., Atina, Jamie, and Crystal; a host of great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
