Jermiya Richardson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jermiya Latrice Richardson, known affectionately as Miya, who journeyed to her heavenly home on June 21, 2026. Born on May 11, 2005, in Atlanta, Georgia, Jermiya was a radiant soul whose presence illuminated every room she entered. An embodiment of love and light, she made our world a brighter place with her smart wit, compassionate heart, funny anecdotes, and her remarkable talent for singing.

Jermiya was a treasure to her family and friends. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit was uplifting, and her love was unending. More than anything else, she cherished her role as a mother to her beautiful daughter, Re’Anna. Jermiya's love for her daughter was a testament to her character, demonstrating her unwavering devotion and the depth of her compassionate heart. Her employment as a part-time cashier at a local restaurant was more than just a job to her; it was a platform for her to spread joy and kindness to everyone she encountered. As written in Proverbs 31:26: "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." This verse resonated deeply with Jermiya, as she was a living, breathing example of its truth.

She is survived by her devoted parents, Carolann Bulger and Jerique Richardson; her loving grandmother, Renee Richardson; and her nurturing stepfather, Shalamar Allen. She now joins her beloved grandmother, Renita Thomas, grandfather, Martin Bell, and her cherished uncle, Delron Bulger, in restful eternity.

A public visitation will be held at Goolsby Mortuary, Inc. & Cremation Services on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 1:00 pm EDT, followed by a celebration of Jermiya's life at 2:00 pm EDT. Jermiya's journey on earth may have ended, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.
