Michael Bernard Waller, born on February 6, 1950, in the cherished community of South Atlanta, peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. He was the beloved son of Howard and Mildred Waller, whose nurturing and guidance shaped the man he became.
Michael attended Jessie M. Jones Elementary, Luther J. Price High School, and Morris Brown College. His time at Morris Brown was marked by his passion for music, where he played the saxophone with the esteemed Morris Brown Marching Wolverines, sharing his gift and bringing joy to many.
Throughout his life, Michael was known for his dedication and hard work. He spent more than 30 years in the freight line industry, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. After retiring, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit by opening a cleaning service, always eager to serve others and make a difference.
Michael’s warm spirit and joyful personality shined brightest when he was enjoying the simple pleasures of life. He loved tailgating and watching football—especially cheering for the Atlanta Falcons—grilling flavorful meals, and listening to his favorite music. His genuine smile and kind heart touched everyone he encountered, leaving a lasting impression of love and compassion.
He leaves behind his dearly loved wife, Angela Waller; his daughter, Tracee Smith (Jermaine); his son, Christopher Waller; his brother, Anthony Waller; his precious grandchildren, Christian Smith, Trinity Smith, Zion Smith, Isaiah Waller, and Elijah Whitney. Michael’s life was also blessed by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members, who hold him dearly in their hearts.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Howard and Mildred Waller. Though he has moved on to eternal peace, his love, his kindness, and his beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. We find comfort in knowing that his memory will continue to inspire and bless us.
