Robert Parks Carswell

Robert Parks Carswell was born on June 28th, 1933, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late William Pasco Carswell and Elizabeth Parks Carswell. Robert was educated in the Atlanta Public School System, where he graduated from David T. Howard High School in 1951. Shortly after graduating, he married “The Love of His Life,” Jancy Barbara Lyons. From this union produced a son, Eric R. Carswell, and a daughter, Tanya V. Carswell-Hill.

Robert enlisted in the United States Army and achieved the rank of Corporal (E-4). Robert retired from Mead Products LLC after 36 years of service. Robert was a lifelong member of Alexander Memorial A.M.E. Church. He was always active in the church. He was a member of the Steward Board and the Trustee Board. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He was also a member of the Harriet G. Darnell Senior Multipurpose Facility.

He is survived by son, Eric R. Carswell, I (Martha); daughter, Tanya Carswell-Hill, (Craig), Four Grandchildren: Eric R. Carswell, II, Tia Francis, Timyia M. Hill, and Timeaus J. Hill. Three Great-Grandchildren: Christian Aiden Robert Clack-Carswell, Tai Francis, and Nazyiah Hill, special friend Teddy McKeever. Robert also has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends,
